Gusen – what will happen in 2024? – Invitation to the information event

On 11 October 2023, the results of the participation process for the expansion and redesign of the Gusen Memorial were presented in St. Georgen an der Gusen in the form of a final report and a master plan in the presence of numerous interested stakeholders and contributors.

Since then, the Gedenkstättengesetz has been amended and the land officially transferred to the Mauthausen Memorial on 1 January 2024. With this amendment, the Mauthausen Memorial and the Burghauptmannschaft Österreich have been commissioned to expand and redesign the Gusen Concentration Camp Memorial, which they are already in charge of.
A competition is currently being prepared for the design of the plots of land.

at the Langenstein municipal office, Hauptstraße 98.
