Commemoration and Liberation Ceremony

The International Commemoration and Liberation Ceremony at the Gusen concentration camp memorial site is organised each year in May by the Gusen Memorial Committee. It is attended by international survivor organisations, diplomatic representatives of the victim nations, representatives of the Republic of Austria and the surrounding communities, as well as regional memorial initiatives. Thousands of visitors travel to the public event each year.

Mauthausen concentration camp memorial is offering guided tours of the Bergkristall tunnel complex as part of the commemorations. The tours are organised in cooperation with the  Gusen Memorial Committee, the market town of St. Georgen an der Gusen and BIG.
