In collaboration with the Ars Electronica Center Linz, the elaborate video installation marking the 77th anniversary of the liberation by US troops saw the names of victims of the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp complex read out and projected onto the outer wall of the Gusen Memorial in Langenstein from 4th to 6th May 2022. Many people attended the solemn tribute or watched the art project online via livestream. We continue to receive grateful and appreciative feedback on #eachnamematters to this day. “We want to give the victims, who were nameless at the time, their identity and dignity back – that is an incredibly vital component of our remembrance work at the memorial site,” said Barbara Glück, Director of the Mauthausen Memorial.
